About us
Plana Sistemi is the Italian company of the group that owns BODAG and SUBSTRAT: tile trims and installation systems, offered through builders' merchants and showrooms.
We help you win new customers and new projects: we bring ranges into your store that make a real difference, and support you from the shelf right through to the job site, with training, display materials and technical assistance.
The group specialises in tile installation systems and operates in several European countries; in Italy we are based in Mapello (Bergamo) and San Cesareo (Rome).

Trial supply: see it prove itself on site
A sample is not enough to judge an installation system. That's why, instead of the usual sample, we send you a real trial supply: you can put it to the test with your customers, even the most demanding ones.
You have 21 days. If the product doesn't convince you, we send a courier to collect the unused material at our expense. If it does, the supply is invoiced as normal.
We do this for a simple reason: we have complete confidence in our products.
Workmanship done right
In Italy, the reference standard for installing ceramic floor and wall tiling is UNI 11493.
Part 1 sets out how to design, install and maintain tiling; Part 2 defines the knowledge and skills required of the tiler. It is not a law, but it is the reference used in specifications and expert reports to establish whether work has been carried out to a professional standard.
Many problems on site come down to details: missing movement joints, poorly prepared substrates, incomplete waterproofing. That's why we help merchants and tilers to:
- choose the right system for the substrate and the environment;
- plan perimeter, field and structural movement joints with the right profiles;
- waterproof and uncouple bathrooms, showers, balconies and terraces;
- install every product according to the technical instructions, with dedicated training.
